STUDENT RESEARCH & TRAVEL AWARDS

Center for Remote Sensing (CRS)

CRS draws faculty from three divisions sharing interests in using or developing remote imaging tools to address dynamical systems on Earth's surface and lithosphere, in the oceans, and in the atmosphere. Close interactions are developing with NASA Ames Research Center.

Eligibility: UCSC graduate students conducting thesis research involving remote sensing are eligible to apply.

Application Process: Applicants should submit a short proposal by email to Jennifer Fish (jfish@pmc.ucsc.edu) including the following. 

1. Name & email of applicant, name & email of UCSC thesis advisor, and title (or working title) of thesis project

1. Relevance of thesis project to remote sensing at UCSC (~50 words)

1. Request for Conference support: Name & link to web site of the conference or workshop, plus abstract of paper being presented. If no paper is being presented, discuss benefits to your research for attending the conference.

1. Request for Research support: Include a paragraph describing what you plan to accomplish.

1. Budget

Awards: Proposal deadlines and announcement dates will be posted each year.

Posters and talks supported by this award must acknowledge funding from IGPP/CRS
